You're Dying

You're Dying

A Poem by Ebb and Flow

You feel so deeply
that it destroys you,
in this maelstrom of a cruel world
that pushes you down
every chance it gets and
you die a little every time.

Everyone relishes in
the pain you bear
and no one knows that
you're dying...

You're dying
to save yourself
from destroying your soul
which you cast aside as if nothing
more than discarded trash.

No hope, no love
no soul, no peace!
Slipping away into
obscurity would be a perfect
repose, for this woman
who hurts from the core.

To give in would be a bitter sweetness
that consumes all that you are,
heart and soul washed away
in a tide of unrelenting sorrow.
