A Moment

When you only have a moment.

Sadness knows no bounds,
and seeks to destroy a smile.
A brief moment in time,
and the sorrow had subsided.
However nothing lasts long,
and  the despair creeps back in.
My hearts become the stage
for a gory display of stabbing.
Something broke inside of me
for which there is no absolute fix.
A moment of respite from dark days,
a bliss of joy and celebration.
Gone now and forever more.
