At Last

At Last

A Poem by Ebb and Flow
"

When you're finally free.

"

Calmly
she exhales
but her heart beats
still rapid.
Not enough time
to think.
Run, you've run this far,
just
keep
going!
Darkness at her heels
but there's that light,
just
ahead
Oh that beautiful light!
Before her eyes
a world of illumination
bursts forth,
and there before her
Gaia lives!
Bird song reverberates
through the air,
and dew drips from
every branch.
Eyes closed she
Inhales life.
No more running she's
found
her
way.

Seems the verse is reaching for something...
yet the urge to continue is all worth it...
as the end is near...
the aftermath is worth the effort..
