The girl who first looked at you with
Shy eyes and innocent thoughts
The seductress that emerged under your careful gardening & passionate harvesting
The woman who holds onto her love 4 you
Against a world determined to part her heart
Splinter the hope and faith I have in you
When I feel that all is lost
Or that my foolish heart is leading me astray

When my motives are questioned or dismissed
When I become the butt of a joke only you find funny
When I feel the only reason you want me is to spawn your "perfect" child
Like a broodmare
That is when the weight of my love is more like a noose than a charm

That is when your throne is threatened
See me 4 me
The girl, the woman, the human being
That I am.
