Hurt me halfway

Hurt me halfway

A Poem by Corset

There is only one direction
burn it loose
as I walk through your door
look at all the dew
so many memories of you

You wanted to hate him
 to make it hurt less
stroke,
 Massive Coronary
did he
make you feel
like you wanted to crawl
up your sleeve?

Caviar

swollen flushed
twenty years ago
let's start over
painful sky
grieving sun
hurt me halfway

when arms close about
me once more
they should feel like the inside
of yours
on a good day

A powerful write dear Corset. You gave glimpses of places and thoughts. I could feel the struggle to seek peace and understanding. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Hello my dear friend and you are welcome. I love your work dear Corset.
I particularly like the last stanza and the last three lines.
Hurt me Halfway...I like that idea...years ago you hurt me halfway....now this can finish the job, but it's okay because I want to feel you close once more.
I have wanted to crawl up my sleeve many times...flannel protection from the hurt...
I drift into some abandoned mine shaft with your poems, waiting for some kind of explosion...
and you manage it...especially with your endings....your momentum always builds.
Shame there aren't more reviews of this piece....WC is going to be left for dead soon, I am afraid.
