Skin and Bones

Skin and Bones

A Poem by Corset

Let me guess what position you're in.
Fragile?
Will you recognize her?

What do you do in an awkward hotel
besides, constantly regret it after
home coming?

Sure, I'll call you.

Accept that direction after 12 years?

home.
right now.
how sweet with your permission.
Say it.

It might be the fog,
say it.

I've always thought of you as an original,
branded.

When the odd open man would dare go there,
always slam the door in their face.

so bizarre.

supernatural.
skin and Bones,

Peanut Butter
no
jelly

Reminds me of the most close to home saying "it's not you, it's me" that happens every so often.

"Sure, I'll call you." "Fragile" Wow. The more I read, the more the words fly out to me, almost more dramatically than intended.

Hey Nick, Thanks so much for reading and for your comments :D
Is it just me, or is this poem dripping with sarcasm? Maybe it's like the acid eating the skin off these tired old bones of predictable romance (((HUGS)))

PS I don't mean your writing is predictable -- not one bit -- it's anti-predictable!

aha im here alwyas
at Thanksgiving dinner, my sister would try to hide her facial bruises with that Revlon, drug store foundation. Truth is, Danny, the guy sitting across from me munching potato salad and greens and waiting for my mother to dish out the final morsel of chitlins, was beating my sisters a*s. But I have a degree in English. I write proclitic poems where meaning so resembles the world we follow around that they hold no atonic analogy. "Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out. but to see who cares enough to break them down" Socrates/ I fight people in my sleep.
