Need

Need

A Poem by Corset
"

for the Hummingbirds

"

Need
How I do need
like the multitude in rain
I need,
Like the rain needs somewhere to fall
something to nourish
some place to softly land
how it seeks out the driest crevasse
to pool and collect
how it needs to be needed
in return
how little water souls;

(children of the water nymph
clinging to the window pane)

cling for dear life.

We all have our needs and this is beautifully penned Corset. So visual and refreshing. A joy to read. Love how you bring in the natural world.

This is almost fairytale-like, love the playfulness and the theme. "the rain needs somewhere to fall" just beautiful, simply perfect. "how it needs to be needed" love this!

Looking forward ...
oh my goodness! so wistful .. repetition of the title works wonders for me ... the perspective is original and inspiring ..the rain needs a place to fall (brilliant says i) and has needs itself .. to nourish and bring to life .. really like this keeper of a poem, Corset! glad i did not miss it!

Thank you for the nice comments Litstar
we are all hummingbirds with the need for those drops of love...
sometimes we fly toward it, other times we back up from it.
i guess both Hummingbirds and Humans can fly backwards....but we all need sustenance...and for us humans...it is love that sates...we cling to the window pane when on the outside looking in at a heart for which we yearn...
love this,
j.
