The poet seems to be making a contrast between the moon and the earth in this one, with the moon coming out ahead. The earth is depicted as envious of the shining orb, which is seen as mysterious, seductive and not blinded by the sun, as is the earth. Furthermore, the moon is wise not to turn its back to the earth, as though the earth might somehow try to wrong it. And yet there is the suggestion the earth is more in need of the moon than vice versa. The general sense is that the moon is like a goddess, untouched by the ills of this planet. An interesting view, if I am taking it correctly. If not, I still got a lot out of the beautiful
imagery.

Excellent piece my friend. Many wonderful bits that I feel when contemplating myself. Although I don't write them as well.

I am not fibbing and I've stamped my foot to prove it.
she doesn't need a name, but we need her...i like this a lot...it's like special people who give without asking for in return...they just show love...which lights up others' lives...and they don't need to be singled out or praised for doing that...it's just love for the sake of love.
