Stumble

Stumble

A Poem by Corset

I am always...
stepping over things

baby gates, laundry baskets

your words into dial tone
their messy cardiac mass

A friend said;
"If something bites you
or gives you pain"

"Lay it gently down
again

Then,  move on"

I am always stepping
over things...

Things that fall
items dropped or laid to rest
A sunrise, a sun set

everyday,
something else to stumble on.

stumbles always occur when we are thinking ahead of ourselves.

yes indeed, thank you!
this sounds like me...i walk steady for about a day at a time, and in between..do lots of stumbling...
that's what real life is...stumbling, stumbling stumbling.

thank you Jacob, very much for your kind comments.
Something I try to do, but I might have a few extra stumbles on the way.

I'm clumsy as hell my friend, thank you for stopping in
I stumbled over the prospect of love once and pushed it aside. I still wonder if I was right or not. Life has puzzles within it sometimes. :/

Nice writing Corset.

So do I. :)
i hear that Corset ... well presented ..i was right their with your hero over each obstacle ..such tragedy multiplied when the sunrise and set are stumbling blocks ..brings to mind and heart all those who suffer depression ..a real epidemic it seems :(((

A short enough little story I read twice.it was great to read the first time so I read it again. I like the little subtle message it says in between.always a pleasure reading your work

Imagine just how sterile space would be without those things that remind you that a home - and life, is supposed to have stumble blocks to remind us we're human!

Your words really made me smile, dk if they were supposed to.. perhaps i feel the same, perhaps i just loved the way your letters tell a story that's utterly real.. Wonderful thought, intention and.. result!

I really felt this, why? Because you are my dear love and friend - unknown, but adored. I have decided to use 'laundry baskets' in a poem, can I? I think we should have a club of just us - those poets we love and circle.
Your Rosa -

you most certainly can use any word you want. and I know I will love reading it! We already do!?!
as I write this I'm tripping over winter boots. why winter boots you might ask?.because I've not put them away from last winter. Our natural imrimis is to list the items that we stumble over and not the items that stumble over us. Like death or daylight savings time. Loneliness.
I love this gentle uncomplicated style. No mysticism. No riddles. Just identifications placed conspicuously. Wonderful write...dana
