The Deep Blue.

The Deep Blue.

A Poem by Corset

The deep blue black green of
winding hill roads roared
like an injured jungle cat.

The silence after has never
been quite so deafing,
not a cricket, neary a hum,
no traffic, no twinkling thrum
of stars on the way side.

I shot straight up in my bed
and clutched my pillow, the
deep rich indigo laughter
of June,
had been silenced.

...and I learned what it meant
to be numb, dumb as the bones
of an old byway.

He had come my way
to exact his revenge,
by silencing
the glorious night.

I opened my arms and
embraced the madness
and loved it black,
'til it was distant
then out of sight.

Thud! woot I gotta Rock from Baby!
Wow, how I read this is someone dealing with depression and agonizing over the joys then are missing out on with a loved one.

You are most welcome.
I love nature. The way you've described the night - deep blue blanket, silenced road... not even a hum.you expertly create an atmosphere. The journey you take the reader through is hauntingly enchanting- the call of nature, the struggle.. then the numbness.... Really dark and gripping.. well done :)

Was a pleasure :)
i think this might be my favorite ever from you...something about the way you metaphorically use nature...the roar he brought to you...but left you silent, mad, wanting...

not even the sound of a cricket...how eerie...but at least there was that glorious night...such price to pay though...when everything afterwards goes completely still...even the beating of a heart.
