Silverfish

Silverfish

A Poem by Corset
"

"

Last night I planted a vineyard
moonlight in twisted xyst
you were there, cracked in Birch
beacon in slivered mist portico,
a twilight strung promenade.

As I drew closer to where you sat;
a plume and a hat
sat by the sea and kept company
a pen and some parchment,
jousting the great beast.

Ancient again in the feast of Greece
white hair flowing with the magic
of a south wind mind, as the moon
shone through the trees and kissed
you into Zebra striped starlight.

Mystically myriad  and so very
magnanimous once again
snorting Paganism like dusty
wisdom...feeding the hunger of
a million like minds.

A vista colonnade made for the
elegance of uncertainty
wishing wells filled with daydreams
and pails filled of nightmare.

I drew my bones through your hair
shifting and parting the clouded vines
and cracked myriacanthous  spines
fruited in wine and feasted upon the
words like a silverfish.

Corset, this is dreamy. The spirit in it is ancient and new...timeless! So eloquent, rich, and deeply satisfying to read :) I loved it!

Hello Lynn, thank you for your dreamy review.
If poets are jewels scattered upon a beach, I have stumbled upon a diamond.

Your poems flow seamlessly in and out of clarity, revealing and concealing abstract images, yet each one contains the magic of a delightful read. A diamond-studded Corset.

A corset - a crown ... A sonnet - a gown,
A poet draped in eloquence ... Poems wrapped in elegance.

You are welcome, dear Corset.
I believe they also learn from you.
you sounded like Plath here, reading (breathless) "The Stones". And I felt the same afterwards.
An ashen face given over to satisfation like a jewel/ not wanting to hear my own voice out of
fear of drowning, out, yours.

This reading has the power of affording pleasure. Well done.

That is such a relief Pax, please take care of you!
This is ancient, mythical and haunting:

Ancient again in the feast of Greece
white hair flowing with the magic
of a south wind mind, as the moon
shone through the trees and kissed
you into Zebra striped starlight.

There are such interesting and beautiful images in this piece but I love this particular stanza.
