RAINBOW

RAINBOW

A Poem by Beyond_The_Rainbow

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Red was the color of affection,
You earnestly showed in distraction,
Before the time ended,
I wished for a little more each time.

Orange was the color you showed in anger,
Beautiful but scary in its own way,
Pressed my throat with a burning dagger,
Couldn't leave when you said please stay.

Yellow I only saw when the day was bright,
Dared to hope it would always stay,
Before the sun fell, perhaps just for the night,
Yet another day came and I was in your way.

Green was the color of jealousy,
The hands which held me by the throat,
Made me dance to your own melody,
Warped reality I couldn't hear my own note.

Blue was the color I showed in sadness,
The color you so feared and hated,
In which I found peace and solace,
My escape so tragically created.

Indigo I only saw at nights full of gloom,
Wished they'd disappear before I did,
Your words sharper than a rose in bloom,
I took it in, closed my eyes and hid.

Violet most pretty of all, my beloved delusion,
The dream of love which burns eternally,
There's nothing left but confusion,
Of once bright and loving me, I'm sorry.
