The demise of Stephen Duck

The demise of Stephen Duck

A Poem by JustJon
"

Stephen Duck was an 18th Century English poet that committed suicide. I don't know how he did it but I don't think it matters really.

"

Stephen Duck was out of luck

When he went down the tavern.

He ordered beer then disappeared

And drank what others hadn’t.

Next day they found he had gone round

The back beside the stream.

A little drunk he took a dunk

And expired it would seem.

You’d think it dim to try and swim

Weighted down by clothes.

But he was sure the path was pure

And that’s the way it goes.

not too bad, it is a good thing to take facts and turn them into humorous entertainment....I am guilty of it....not bad at all
