Nietzsche

Nietzsche

A Poem by CopingWithCaptainMorgan

i've spent my early 20s half drunk
a quarter of my life gone,
if i were optimistic
but still, there is one thing i'm envious of
the earth
it drifts year by year
inch by inch
toward the sun
narrowly escaping its end
like us all
until the proper time comes
who's to define that proper time
is the earth in its early 20s
am i?

Nietzsche is peachy, as we used to say back in the sixties.Perhaps my favorite quote is: "It's not the lack of love, but the lack of friendship which makes for unhappy marriages."-- THUS SPOKE ZARATHUSTRA, I think.
Another favorite:"With no music, life is a mistake".
