This Is Love

You may have your breakups and your puppy love but in the end everyone finds their true love.

First it's the eye contact that makes you warm
It comes to you like a storm
His simple smile is all you need
To everything else you pay no heed

And the warmth grows between two souls
You tell them your future dreams ,all the goals
Together you sit day after day
Together you laugh and play

Their hand in yours for the first time
Making your thoughts become sublime
Shoulder to shoulder you sit in the sand
Your toes grazing the grainy land

Then you share a kiss ,in the evening light
And the butterflies in your stomach ignite
The next day with a kiss ,they bid you farewell
As the school sounds it's bell

It's not long 'til you see them next
You walk the hallway to the place where you always pass and the scene makes everything more complex
He tries to explain ,but to you it's all just a tall tale
You tell yourself not to cry but as you run away you fail

You ignore all the texts and calls
Run away from him when you're in the halls
It's all over ,the adults were right with what they spoke of
Forever was not your love

Tears stream down your face
And you vow that all boys from your life you'll erase
You'll never love again
A 'single' status you'll maintain

That you believed until it happened once more
You fall in love just like before
But your constant arguing destroys your once perfect relationship
And once again you feel your heart rip

Again and again it happens until you graduate and get a job
More mistakes are made and you sob
But eventually you find your other half
Together you share many sweet moments and laugh

What a place we live in
Let love begin
Let love end
Eventually you'll find the person who your time you'll spend
