Aunt Marilyn's Table

Aunt Marilyn's Table

A Poem by Anelec L'lehcor H'Tims

The candles stayed lit. There were so many, the scent was heavy in the room. The light from the flames made millions of rainbows because of the reflection through the crystal knickknacks. They shimmered and flickered like mini fires. The eyes of the figurines were shining with the emotions of real people. Their faces each told a story. Their existence told each aspect had a character the kookiness, the curves, the slants, the dull points. The colors gave each piece spice. The yellow at the center of the pair. The green of the table runner. The glaze of the glass some frosted, some not. Each piece a important, maybe untouched maybe not.
