Who should have stayed?

Who should have stayed?

A Poem by Bertha
"

You can go, if you can not fight anymore.

"
I thought you'd stay this time
I left my home to hold you with all my might
Where did i go wrong?
Am i now just another person you'll say you met yesterday?
How did all the perfection you saw fade all away?
You lied to me.
You are a good choreographer!
You taught me how to dance your steps so well
Then you left me
As if what i put on the floor with all my sweat,
Was nothing but compared to what?!

I thought I would stay
After all you did for me back then
Pulling me to where none understood but us
You made me laugh at random things!
But in the end everything was systematic
Now that the cold wind has made us sick
That all that we ever took in inlove,
We have now vomited out
Even if I stay,
I will be alone

I could hear someone saying this to me. Being independent all my life, never married, I've gotten into many relationships, then just ended them casually, becuz I never meant for it to last. I told people ahead of time that I was not into commitment. But people still have these hopes, as you express so well in your poem. Even tho I warned guys, they still believed it would be different & that I might stay with them. It's kinda bittersweet to realize I've hurt people this way. Your words are very well-expressed & poignant (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Leaving and worse yet being left is a very sad thing. It happens, but then we must move on. We must hope and indeed even pray that soon the hurt will be gone and something better is waiting for us.

Take care - Dave
