What If Concrete Grew Like Grass?A Poem by CookeCodyAn alternate scenario
If Nature chose to nurture asphalt, sprouting roads instead of seeds, would we vote against the trees? What if concrete grew like grass, and forests roared from traffic life? Would we, then, behave for Mom?
If God, for some, breathed smoke and fire, then would we say, “This is dire!”? It’s either one of two gross things: it’s not our fault or yes, it is. For those who cleanse themselves of blame, what kind of smoke flees from your flame, whisp’ring clouds or choking coals? Would you deny the Nature and effects of oceans filled with gas, gas for cars and planes and tanks? Find a cheaper way, perhaps, a man-made way for convenience. And those of you who own the blame, who play Economy the Game, what if concrete grew like grass? Who would first call dibs to that, the right to which pays for itself, and never ceases to profit? Finally, a market that can be completely natural; would this, a world made new and strong from concrete pillars grown from dirt, would this mean men could do no wrong? What if concrete grew like grass? At last, a way that we can last! © 2017 CookeCody |
