Lust

Lust

A Poem by CookeCody
"

I've never had sex, but I want to pretty bad

"
Your body tasted warm wherever I touched. Lips hovering above your snow-freckled skin, we played with one another's boundaries
I opened you first. A sound slid between my fingers, no louder than a whisper, softer than the sheets. You bloomed like a rose. I hugged your scent, a sweetness of sweat, against my bare chest
We wanted each other. Your hands scoured my body, keeping to themselves all that they found, and I cleansed you of apprehension with my tongue. Quivering, giggling, moist, our lips grew wide and we said into each other what we were forbidden from ever saying
Time melted with the candles, flickered like the flames in our throats. We breathed more of each other and shrunk down, down, low and very small until we were positive we were alone, and then we exploded
Now we became selfish together, taking from our arms and legs and everything in between what we thought might taste good. We were naked, clothed only in desire. Passion charged from my chest and pinned you to your own surrender. The curve of my thumb and index finger seemed to have been made to perfectly fit both of your elbows
We were perfect, entirely animal. Gasps of steam acted as our love song and we sang that duet with saliva passion. Every part of us danced to our very own music. Together we lost ourselves and tore each other apart trying to find the other
In a dark room we were made of the same light

Wow! I was held enraptured from the very beginning, but that last line is BEYOND brilliant. It stands alone as poetry all its own "In a dark room, we were made of the same light." I wish I had written that. Excellent!
