Ramblings of the tired mind

Ramblings of the tired mind

A Poem by Constance Payne
"

Just ramblings on a dreary day...

"

The days roll on

With skys of gloom

We hope in April

For a springs bloom

Sunny one day

Dark the next

Both required

in excess

The flowers bloom

The colors bright

The trees all bud

The world is right

The spell spring casts

Love is in the air

The hearts they smile

At looks so fare

Life renewed

The hearts grow light

When love surrounds

Both day and night

We seek a love

To make us smile

Forgetting our power

All the while

Look within

And love thyself

For the love is best

Not on the shelf

To love another

I first must see

To love the most

I must first love me

Welcome spring

My heart renews

The hope of something

Wonderous and new

The blues may take me

For just one day

The sun comes out

It is time to play

The tired ramblings of a tired mind during lunch to keep from having to speak to anyone who was setting around in the resturant so that my mind might rest.

Well done Constance. Extremely melodic and fun to read. If this is what you do during lunch, I'd love to read one you wrote during dinner. :)

You had great flow in this poem. The ramblings of a poetic mind have a wealth of wisdom. Their were a lot of pearls of wisdom in this poem. I don't believe poets ramble. I think we go inside to that place of inspiration and that's when our gift flows out. You prove that in this poem.

The gray days in spring are harder to take, sometimes, than the gray days of winter. I like the rhyme and flow of this piece, and the reminder that love comes to those who love themselves.
