Picnic SeasonA Poem by Constance Payne
Picnic season is over
Because the ground Is covered with leaves Bring a cup of coffee A picnic it will be! We will build a little fire A hot dog we will roast Warming near the fire Marshmallows we shall toast. We can have a picnic If only in our dreams I will meet you on the morrow Where nature's beauty gleams. When the snows start flying The leaves all covered in white Our picnic we will bring inside To keep our hearts so light The world demands we follow The rules it lies before, But we will meet tomorrow For a picnic on the floor.
