The Abyss

The Abyss

A Poem by Constance Payne
"

Written when my mother was suffering from Alzheimer's and I could not save her.

"
The Abyss, unknown to me, a mass chases me into it's other half. Moving me toward the fear that engulfs my heart. I run, moving what I think is toward the safety in my life, yet they are no where to be found.  Becoming more and more surrounded I scream.....awake....still not knowing what lies in the blackness of the mass that surrounds....The Abyss of the dreams I suffer.
