Pizzahouse Poem

A Poem by Pablo Cole

Pizzahouse Poem

come to me with passion in your
i love you
soul
in your commitment

i will be waiting there
with a slice of pizza
and diet coke

you want freedom?
smoke a cigarrette
strength in your kiss?
try your arm
and heart in your embrace?
paint a pillow
sleep and dream
with the stars above
you
tonight
won't you love?
see yourself there
in this one life
and know that that
light
crossing
distance
is not so far
and you are not so far from love

the sky is there for you
like whispering silohuettes
in time
telling you what you should do
horizons
limitational
gravity
supportable
like the one destiny
awaiting the great return
live!
God already knows your story
and i tell you
i believe in you

and please know that power
in your mind, heart
and hands
together and all
are made of
this life
in your strength
and vulnerability
you are borrowing
so be kind
give empathy
if there is no certainty how to serve

try
forge
embrace
hope for all

and tolerance
for your enemies

because "i forgive"
can be the greatest words,

feel,
that can be said
i sing that same old tune

below
and above
the rainbows and the comets
persist
as ever
perplexing me
as man
with
strange voices
whispers
things invisible to see
the message an imprinted oath
secret of the ages

like a wink in God's eye
less than a fraction
divinity and grace
are
yet
designed with us
in mind
with us to live
being and essence, under that controlling hand
we
belong
you are beautiful
freely
even alone
artist or outsider
even undone
even
one
like
me
i wish for salvation
in the pure light's glory song
you have not been forgotten
so move on along

with your pizza
out in the forest wilderness
you'll find your meanings there
reflections
mutations
colors
of will
and predestiny
in the lake at moonlight's shining
and in the sun's rising
example
go,
live, love, try to know
expand, give, and grow

kiss a hippy
hug a poet
punch an actor
sue all lawyers
and
smash all guitars

and at the end of the day
have your pizza and diet coke
for five dollars
yes, you can make it

come to me, my sweetheart
and endear yourself to me
we can make it together
i will tell you
"i love you"
with passion
and in my commitment
my home
see where i belong
is right here
in

your

big

shining

eyes

with my slice of pizza and with my diet coke
