unmeaning and sorrow

unmeaning and sorrow

A Poem by Pablo Cole

suicide

a reason why

a dead bird

it cannot fly

you live on in their wisdom and love

grow wings

it comes as no surprise

to me

you won't transform

depressions sifts

like teenage wistfulness

you're off the list

a falling tear

an empty year

restore sanity

if you want to love make her crazy

would like to disappear

when pain comes after the tears are clear

the lasting hurt

the cemetary in the heart

made you wonder what you wanted from the start

it wasn't luxury

a listening ear an imaginary friend comes near

you think for a moment you are not alone

but that illusions fades and you realize no one ever phones

anymore

no supernatural aid quells the panic inside the bone

the future stands

no gun in hand

ends the war inside

in sight you walk the bridge

you climb the mountain

patient to jump

storming past the ridge of battle

of youth there is no fountain

but here comes the sun up again

and you give life the benifit of doubt

for one more day

as you call yourself a man

and you wonder what that is
