Happy Birthday MomA Poem by Pablo ColeThis is a poem For my thankful home from which I was born The hearts Of you and dear departed Dad " my history, my lineage My pen is full with the spirit and gratitude Of my soul For knowing I have the treasure Of such a wide caring family That makes me believe in humanity And yes that means you Pat Lisa, Michelle, Wanda … and Sasha and Maddox too! I know things didn’t always go According to plan as a movie script But you’ve made me into a man Who is free and likes himself That is the gift And stand proudly Until the day you have to Lean on me Let’s hope that is not for years And years and years My Dear Mother You have done so much!!! So this I must take the moment to say to you: I feel gratitude, I feel appreciation My future horizons are hopeful and wishful And with truthful celebration Of love, of hope, of truth, of acceptance And the intelligent ability " learning to forgive Of strength of mind body and heart And a wise sense of peace Let it go! Let if flow! Let life blossom! Let the water behave as itself It’s been a hard battle But you’ve made me believe in myself And all I can tell you with human words I can only say what you’ve given me: “Everything! Everything! Everything!” And we all know that time goes by in the wink of an eye But all you have given me is in my memory and goodness The best of me I learned from a great family You taught me that it is important to stand for love Even in perilous moments No matter what others think or say I would only say I did it my way And maybe that I’m sorry for all the headaches I have caused And you have given me confidence and courage And that is what I need some days of this life That gift of life, the difficult years you raised, sheltered and protected me Is greater than any gift of words I have With honest truthful words So I thank the one I owe the most to With hopefully the words that mean the most: With love, I thank you, my mother The best MOM a dude could have Have a happy Birthday, Mom!!! Love you! Go on you done good! Enjoy your day!!! Sincerely, Your son, © 2014 Pablo Cole |
