The Elf CostumeA Poem by ConfuserEmily's Contest, The ElfEmily’s Contest, The Elf The Elf
Costume Tiny hands, tattered clothes, Kids laughed and jeered, Mother in the hospital, A Father filled with fear, Hands clasped together, A prayer for angels’ ears, Carried upto the heavens, By calming winds it went, Tho, in her prayer for healing, A tiny thought slipped in, The Christmas Costume Party, she would never win. In the morning she awoke, Could not believe her Eyes, The Elf went out the window, Winked a sweet goodbye,
There lay a magical ensemble in the words she read, Faith and Hope will Guide you, True beauty lies Within. As she stepped upon that empty stage, A joyous beaming smile let upon her face, Like the mourning dove, let out of a cage, Their clapping echoed to the Almighty, He enveloped their sad souls guided by a smile, through God’s merciful love, it rose and rose, like the warming sun, beyond those tattered clothes, Her stage is shared by millions, the hopeless desperation, Seeking truth and fulfillment, They only need to believe, For once tired, now growing stronger, she doesn’t walk alone, Redemption comes lifting her spirit where it always belonged,
The chorus began singing, Hosanna in the Highest , The bells began to ring, Tears falling down her face, Love spread from our Lord the King. © 2014 ConfuserFeatured Review
