White Wolf

White Wolf

Emily’s challenge, E. Dickinson, quote broken heart/not die in vain

(a couple of words EE Cumming Poem, I carry your heart within my heart: beautiful, not like this*)

Dawn awoke to shattered glass,

Somewhere lost in time,

Spirit of my truest,

Severed loves arteries,

No longer part of mine,

Blood let like raindrops

‘evry surface of the floor,

Sucked up like a thirsty baby, always wanting more.

A parasite carried it away,

To the ancient firecaves,

Beyond the green forests

burning methane glows,

like the gentle way you warmed my restless soul.

Our vow pure as snowflakes,

tender touches ‘neath a1000 moons,

the luscious endless kisses I melted into,

but then silence filled the night, you left me far too soon,

But now your spirit, haunts me, transformed into a beast,

Like the white wolf forever starving, stalking my dreams,

An endless hunger, pulling asunder, for I am your feast,

Merciless spirit of my foregone true,

You took my heart within your heart,*

Your indifference smiles with ‘gain,

Now rage festers boiling liquid pain,

Evaporated on the hot desert sands,

Where we laid closely hand in hand,

Please my love, do not let your death be in vain.

Cast among the throng of bones,

Our hearts beat not in sync,

Only blistered memories, devouring my sanity,

Imprinted upon me spirit of my true?

Flying dreams haunt me, I hover over the sea

Below, my red heart beats………………..

I beg your surrender…...render my plea,

Gods deity, let rebirth satisfy your needs,

Lowly leach you suck the marrow from me.

 *****************************************************

A soft wave of lonliness,

A wisper from the Grave…

a mournful cry, trepidations high,

Words spoken with sincere clarity,

I heard you say them once before,

Fight for true love and humanity.

I see a reflection in the glass,

The beauty in your smile I see,

Our love brought you back,

One final time, the finality,

Our love has made you see….

The white wolf, mourns an outcast as he searches for a mate….

The day he finds her, the world will be at peace.

Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you in advance for reading. My Maternal Grandfather is a Cherokee Indian: very spiritual people, thus the white wolf.

may that white wolf find her and bring peace soon, a simply outstanding poem Dale, so many facets, so many side to it and a stand out stanza;
But now your spirit, haunts me, transformed into a beast,
Like the white wolf forever starving, stalking my dreams,
An endless hunger, pulling asunder, for I am your feast,
this one among so much magnificence its a poets dream :)

This is really beautiful, written from the heart. I see the connection with nature in it, the rebirth, the love. I love the image of the white wolf, can see him before me,...very good poem, has touched me, glad you shared this, Dale. :) Rudi

It twists and turns beneath pumping blood and snowflakes...a resurrection of something thought gone forever to end in perfect peace. It sits on another plane of existence.

Dale, you need to stop putting yourself down, you are beginning to sound like me. :) This was quite different for you and I think you did a great job with the poem and capturing the theme. Not every one will read this the same and that is what's so cool about poetrty. Trust me, this will touch many people. It's not always easy to take a quote or a prompt and write to it. This was really nice.
