A chance meeting of old lovers no longer together and denied by one.

The Forgotten Lover

Hello old friend -
I thought you said we'd be together, 'til the end.

Oh, 'twas so long ago -
Don't you remember my name?
What you say? 'tis not you, I should blame?

We once were aflame,
Two melted - embraced as one.

Was it not you, who proclaimed -
proclaimed, my name?

What you say?
How did you get so vain?

I write this not for you.
I write for all the forgotten or wronged lovers.

My words I spoke unto you were true.
I gave unto you, all of myself - heart, soul, body, & mind.
I thought you said we'd be together 'til the end.

You don't even remember my name,

the one you once proclaimed.
The woman who loved you through all the wrongs you have done.

I haven't forgotten -
Two people melting - embracing - to be as one.
