Where hath ye wandered, dear tabby cat? Quite aloof and elusive thou hast been of late. What scars upon the hearth thy claws hath left, What incisions upon my bosom thou hast made! Oh, I call to thee, yonder tabby cat, Thy dish and bedding I do setteth out... But alas, estranged from I and enamored of that yonder tree, Thou maketh thyself domestic Only when these affectionate pleads for thy return Call not to thy heart, But to thy belly!
An amusing piece of absurd and comic poesy in the language of yore - spoken by Masters Shakespeare and Keats - two elements that seldom go hand in hand upon the page, but with this feline friend of thine by yonder tree, thou hast accomplished such a feat. Well writ!

All your reviews caught my attention in my inbox. For that you have my gratitude. I distinctly remember writing this poem. It's funny because everyone thinks this piece is so whimsical and playful- which I won't deny, it purposefully is. What I've never told anyone is that I actually wrote this poem about my parents splitting up and my dad leaving my mother for other women and activities. But at the time, we were all in the middle of it and I felt like I couldn't really tell anyone or talk about it. So this is what I wrote.
