ClockworkA Poem by Briana Noël ManzanoReflecting on my life, my procrastinating disposition, lack of motivation, the strange way we perceive the passage of time, and the realization that the indeterminable amount of time I have dwindles.Tick. Tick. Tick. The clock looms over me- Disapproving. The seconds run circles around The minutes trudge circles around The hours crawl circles around The clock looms over me- Taunting. Tick. Tick. Tick. A life began. A life ended. A moment passed. Tick. Tick. Tick. An endless staring contest. Arbitrary passage of time. A list of things to procrastinate. Tick. Tick. Tick. Still I do not move, Waiting till the last minute. There is no last minute. Every minute is the last minute. Tick. Tick. Tick. The clock looms over me- Reminding. Tick. Tick. Tick. The clock becomes silent. I close my eyes.
