Domina FortunaA Poem by Cass Ashe
Last night I witnessed yon Lady Luna
Atop stars amidst dance with Orion. I found myself glancing to Fortuna, And asking how much money 'twas to buy in. Tis natural to ask on deities, Who, she being of luck, could grant respite From my lack thereof, a little more ease, But her answer was unlike a despot. The kindly manner about her message Drifted 'twixt constellations as magic In an omen displaying not presage Nor anything resounding as tragic. "Hardship begets thy hope to persevere, Wherein comfort becomes thy tomb of fear." © 2024 Cass Ashe |
