Death, dressed in white

Death, dressed in white

A Poem by Cass Ashe

There you are, my love, an impeccable time,
This terminal moment is now sublime.
Chilling winter air and soft crunch of snow
Shimmering stars showing me where to go
In a moon-glimmering sky null of clouds
And a still dark forest where steps wear shrouds.
Crisp, invigorating still air I breathe
I spin gazing up, your red ring I wreathe.

Ah,
so it shall go,
I can’t move my feet.
I fall…
to knee…
a silent song so sweet.
Moon's glow…
pure crystal snow…
Dear,
it's our night.
Silence’s hum...
numbing heat...
Death,
dressed in white.
