Momentum

Momentum

A Poem by Cass Ashe

It's just human nature,
We hate change.
Some are content with living the same life
Every day.

Maybe I'm just a free spirit,
Because if I lived the same life
Every day,
I would free my spirit.

I've pushed people to get through things
With all the might I can muster
And they hung their feet forward
Saying they need me to keep pushing.

Momentum momentum
Memento mori.
More mindless moving
Mutilates me.

Letting go they stop,
Momentum gone.
Weight gone,
They stop letting go.

This made me think of someone starving themselves to death. And eventually just excepting the inevitable outcome of death. That was what sprung to my mind on reading this.

There is no lasting definition of me, as I am endlessly seeking to grow and change as a person, but feel free to call me whatever you desire, as my pen name is only that- a pen name. My poetry is a re.. more..
