ClovoniusA Poem by Cass AsheA short tale of the moon and the stars.A tale told of the stitcher Clovonius, Who betroth'd the moon and the stars for us. When a heated brawl with the midnight bull Who was untimely born and muscle full Stripped the bride the day she sought to wed And gored the new groom bloody in their bed. Clovonius saw the lovers' end not so, For her love was woven a sky bed bright Showing her face to the world ev'ry night, Longing for her lover's look in deep woe Turning her bright eyes thirty days each glow. The groom he spread around in night's dark sky, His million eyes dripping dew as for why He cannot see his bride in the darkness When they are in so close as to caress. So he vowed to run 'round the world each day In the vast expanse his gaze outward lay, While she searches the Earth in days seven, Never to meet for he ventures in heaven. The pearl of night and her fragmented groom, By Clovonius bound in a lonely doom.
