Barbed-Wire ButterfliesA Poem by CompellingComposerPain and suffering eased by a loving heart...
Barbed-wire butterflies flutter in my chest
Slicing my heart with strokes of steel And they seem to never rest Causing wounds you always heal You're not afraid to touch my heart of stone My pain has melted to the floor Loving me, giving me feelings I've never known With gentle smiles I adore My heartbeat so fast, it never slows Thoughts of you have taken over my menacing brain And my heart ( because of you ) always grows So I'll choke out " I love you " through all this pain © 2011 CompellingComposer |
