Catatonic

Catatonic

A Poem by Commanda Panda

I’m running out of words,

So read the pain in my eyes.

Don’t swallow my excuses

And learn to improvise.

The lies I’ve learned to speak

Have been practiced from day one.

As I try to stay afloat

I wish that I could run.

I’m a dying breed dying to fulfill a need,

But it can’t be okay until you take the lead.

I’ve been pushed aside and pushed to extremities,

And now I only want a little inner peace.

I don’t remember love or ever thinking straight.

I don’t think I can heal; I can’t regenerate.

I’ve put up a shield that few can penetrate,

But anyone who does will be the one I venerate.

Nice flow. And words that are woven into the fabric of a life: the need to excel, the longing for ture heroes, the deep need to be a psrt of something greater permeates this piece. So, yeah, I dig it.

And, welcome to the madhouse.

Cheers!
