Chapter 3A Chapter by Commanda PandaFrom the diary of Princess Lacey Bonnie Tipsy Gipsy
IX: So far we’ve been sailing for what I believe
has been ten days. There is no land in sight, and although Alim has been able
to keep a cool head I am growing worried. What if we never see land again? What
will we do when supplies run low? What if the fog comes back? I have not voiced
my concerns to Alim yet because I trust his judgment as the ship’s captain, but
I may not be able to contain myself for long. Ever since we were overtaken by
the fog I’ve had a lingering sense of foreboding things to come. The crew seems
tense and ever vigilant. I feel they may share my premonition. On a lighter note, Samuel seems to
have recovered fully from his mutation from eggplant to yam. He even jokes
about his condition from time to time. Perhaps it is the mechanism he uses to
cope. However, I do not know him as well as Alim, and I do not wish to impose
by asking about his true feelings. As my bodyguard Alim has been very
attentive and protective, but he seems distant emotionally at times. It is hard
to find privacy when you are stranded on a ship, but even late at night he does
not permit me into his quarters. Perhaps the stress of leading his crew to land
is affecting him, but I am beginning to feel like a nun. Maybe if I start
flirting with some of the men on his crew I’ll be able make him jealous and
rekindle what we had before we left on this journey. :) © 2013 Commanda Panda |
