Alcohol and I: Partners

Today is a good day for some cake flavored vodka.

When my friends let me down Alcohol says, “I gotcha.”

It’s cheaper than a hooker that you get from the projects

And puts a smile on my face though it screws with my logic.

I’m a writer; drinking should be expected.

Poe, Hemmingway, Fitzgerald: alcohol was connected.

I’m tipsy, but still more advanced than you when I’m fuzzy.

The difference is when I’m drinking I’m more scuzzy.

But I don’t fight when I’m drunk. Why risk swollen knuckles?

I just say things so ridiculous and leave your mind wrapped in puzzles.

Haha This one made me chuckle a bit. I like the reference to the idea of the great writers/poets being "impaired", because it is so true. Most people need to be sharper in order to "work", but poets tend to do better when they are a little out of their heads, i think.
