I look at your pictures constantly rotating in my slideshow.

The voice I’ve never heard echoes in my head.

It’s the voice I want whispering in my ear.

Not just things I want to hear, but things genuinely said.

The tapping of typing fingers brings on a Pavlovian response.

I am ready for your reply. I am waiting eagerly.

Tell me something that will blow my mind,

But do it ever so gingerly.

I hold my breath, and then it comes;

The answer to the question I’ve asked in tears.

Now I know it is you I’ve been waiting for;

Aching for all these empty years.

I never know what to expect. Political satire, dirty romp, or deceptively simple insight. But lately, too... small glimpses of warm heart and bright soul, hesitant, as if by someone awakening from a slumber and not sure which world he is in. I feel honored that you shared this with us. I know what it is like to hear the voice in your head of someone you have never actually spoken to. To have a conversation without words across distances. This is quite sad...and beautiful at the same time. I understand the sentiment well. We make connections in this life that are not truly tangible connections, but they become more real than the rest of our connections; do I make any sense? Metaphorically, I can also see this as a sort of carried away "ode" to the write and review process...how we wait and wait for recognition and praise. Thought provoking and nicely written.

I do like the blood, gore, deep-dicking, snatch-flinging and profoundly free wheeling, tightly wound rhymes but this is kinda' sweet, or, really, bittersweet.
