Rusted, Bent and Broken

Rusted, Bent and Broken

A Poem by Commanda Panda

The world has gotten larger and more empty as those I love have died.

Safety is no longer in someone’s arms, but in the shadows where I hide.

Somehow I must fill the slots that are vacated rapidly

By friends who go their separate ways and deceased family.

I feel myself declining as hope trickles away.

I feel like I am dying, but you can’t see the decay.

Somebody see me and fill the cracks within my soul.

This world rejects me and the void swallows me whole.

Every time I try to open up more pain just rushes in.

My mind can only take so much before flying off its hinge.

I do not normally do this, Panda, especially after someone was so kind as to give me several reviews. But there is a poem you can find on the front page of my profile called "mended." I think maybe something in it might be able to reach out to you. not askign for reviews. But, maybe my words might give you another way of looking at things?

As for me, I always know when something special has tiptoed into my life when I lift my pen to write about the golden summer fields and find it, instead, wanting to praise another human being's presence. When I find myself wanting to stand up a little taller, and be more conscientious. When I look at the damaged vessel, and say, simply, "it is time to do a little repair work, because the Creator has sent me soemthing special again." These things become the catalyst for the gold I use to fill in the cracks where the soul leaks through. When the vessel holds water again, I know it is ready. Often it takes the mind and heart of a skilled craftsman to help hold the pieces while the owner does the repairs. Contrary to popular belief, time does not heal wounds. Only love has ever done that.

I love you too, your lovely beast ;)
I like this. The rhyme scheme and the theme seal it overall.
