Those Three Words

Those Three Words

A Poem by Jills
"

Three words that are so hard to say...

"

It’s scary,

saying those three little words.

They mean so much,

and if they’re overused

can completely destroy

what it stands for.

Yet if not said enough

can cause everything around

to come tumbling down.

Unsure,

these strange feelings.

Peace, happiness;

complete bliss.

Emotions galore

all because of this

one special person.

With them,

I feel safe, happy;

unstoppable.

But when they’re gone,

discomfort, sadness;

I feel sick to my stomach.

How can this be

in such little time,

to fall for them

completely,

utterly,

head over heels.

Those three little words,

so foreign and scary,

this time slip

right off my lips.

I say what I mean

and mean when I say.

I love you,

and it grows every day.

I love how this poem contrasts between wanting to say it, but hesitating. But I probably would've left out "I love you" at the end, because it is so obvious that it's completely unnecessary. A beautiful poem, and you broke the lines at the right parts.

I wrote a story with the same name, btw, haha. :p
