Smoke

Smoke

A Poem by Comewhatevermay
"

From Jan. 2004

"
"I love smoke," I told him
As I made swirls in the early morning air
And so he blew through me
Like stale cigarettes
Staining my shirts, shirt, and soul
God
I crave him
I can't get away this time
Only in riddles does he speak his mind
Right isn't always what it seems
A dream or two could clear up everything
I know better... I know I do
There aren't any excuses, only truth
If you're as lost as me, how can I save you?
Just a little confused
Is this what I've been looking for all along?
Can't be, can it?
I'll make no promises to you
