Honestly

Honestly

A Poem by Comewhatevermay

I call to mind this vision of you
It wasn't all in my head
And that's the first time I knew

Laying there I felt the burden on your chest
Don't say it was nothing
Closed your eyes under the weight of it

Lips lightly pressed like just before confessions of the holy
I never believed it was real
Until I recognized you withholding

So, I suppose all this silence makes no difference
Except, it does, honestly

Sometimes silence speaks louder than words. When one is holding back in any relationship, it is unfair to the other, leaving them guessing and wondering until only worst case scenarios are thought, infecting the relationship unless spoken about honestly...which is the word you end with, maybe subconscious hint.
You capture the theme well, with openness and sense, honestly :)

A stage of uncertainty for the other person who is unaware of the reason behind the distance in the relationship... I loved the last two lines, speaks a thought provoking message...
