The Dellusion

The Dellusion

A Poem by Comewhatevermay

When I first brought your eyes to mine
The physical space between our bodies became amplified
You couldn't help but run your fingers through my hair
You imprinted me there, deep.
A simple gesture you snuck when I looked away
Ran through me, igniting this insatiable flame.
There can never be enough kisses, affection, touch.
Saying I love you isn't even enough

Try as I might, I can't find the words to explain to another
Why it is we could never be without each other.
They couldn't grasp the concept of a connection so real
A devotion so fierce, this passion is the kind of killers
I hope they see us consumed in each other and it scares them all.
Because they won't see the splendor in taking the fall.

Look at what you've done to me, I've never been so affected
You fill this void I never knew even existed
When you look in my eyes or my name is on your lips
When you bring your face to mine and I'm under your finger tips
Skin humming, rising to meet
With every skipped beat I'm feeling complete.

Nothing could take me from your side, nothing so strong
That could tear me from where I belong
There was never another that gave me this peace.
Never another that could reach me.
Because it was always meant to be us, you and me
Us against the world and everything in between.

You make love with your pen here, and the art of this intense connection you share with this beloved is deeply felt by me... I do love to read this out loud, for it really makes it even more beautiful than it already is. It has such a great flow. Nicely done Sarah.

I agree with Elisa. Your ink here is passionate. I think this line stuck out the most and really built up the entirety of the poem for me."You imprinted me there, deep." Brilliant as always. Love.
