None But YouA Poem by ComatoseWhat do I do, now I've reached the edge? The cliff is steep to the abyss below, With no sign of a landing in sight. There are miles upon miles of empty air, Without a sound ringing through it. Once you cross the line, There is no turning back. Reaching out for a comforting hand, No hand will I hold, other than your hand.
What do I do when smothering black Threatening to steal away my being, Without a trace of what had happened? This world is so cruel, So dark, I tingle with sudden fear No arms do I need other than your arms.
What do I do with a life That is now so bleak, so pointless? Looking down into the abyss, I feel as though I can see the end of the world, Hidden, cloaked in a darkened mist. Whispering promises of relief and comfort, I must keep senselessly on, And because I will live on for you. No love keeps my heart, other than your love. © 2010 ComatoseAuthor's Note
