LONGING

LONGING

A Poem by Comanche
"

Silently seeking thoughts in the autumn of my life

"

LONGING

I sit here this day and watch the leaves
As they fall from the many great trees
Their time has come and to this end
Down and down they descend

Brown, gold and yellow are they
With hints of red and even grey
On the ground they accumulate
At an ever increasing rate

Calming and wonderful to see
These leaves from those beautiful trees
They are, in many ways, like my own life
I live and grow through wonder and strife

I seek so much more in the autumn of my years
Through all of the heartache and so many tears
I have seen her so often in my thoughts and dreams
So far away and untouchable it seems

Her soft and warm nature, her beautiful face
My heart it is stirring and quickening it’s pace
The strength of this passion, I quiver and shake
Is this feeling real or will I soon come awake

She is so distant in that far away land
I wish to be with her, wouldn’t that be grand
The days have been so many like grains of sand
Until we meet we will share what we can

I know so little, but my mind sees all
Her misty silhouette in this season of fall
She is there and living her life this very day
And I am here longing, my urges at bay

Someday I will see her and hold her so near
Our hearts will rejoice and there will be no fear
To reach out and touch her and hold her to me
I feel as if it was so meant to be

If given the chance to be the one
My love would burst forth as to rival the sun
Our lips brushing softly and deep in our eyes
Is what we are seeking, so our passions do rise

We kiss and we touch and we can no longer wait
Making love again and again, it is our fate
At peace I will be in the fall of my years
But this time joy will be the reason for my tears
