As August Approaches...A Poem by Colton WarrI'm sorry for not being as active. I miss you all. I love you all. Here's but a taste of what I've been working on. August Eighth. Love, CEWAs August Approaches… A Prelude He fell, desperately quiet, dangerously private, deliberately trying, to change the seasons. to cling to reason. to tread not into treason. Pretty pieces of parchment pulling at his pen, Witty wenches writing wild words about when, His teeth turned them away upon entrance to the Wolf’s Den. Alas, the blood dripping brought more chill than heat, She still said that it would be a thrill to meet, I walked up to her and gave her a kiss to kill as a greet, And then we talked about August… Ask for forgiveness now, she told he, Usually he would give everything to thee, Guess these moons have cost him more than just a fee, Unless she is the one, best to just leave him be, She should tread carefully when locking lips with me, Told him she keeps her love locked up, let my silver tongue be your key… the ink spills on, The Eighth Day of the Eighth Month CEW © 2018 Colton WarrReviews
