An Undelivered Poem

An Undelivered Poem

A Poem by Colton Warr
"

These words are for you, as all of them are...

"
An Undelivered Poem
A Poem by Colton Warr

I feel unsettled and missing
Like a nomad traveling through an unknown land
Nettled and Reminiscing
I once knew every small texture of your hand

I feel confused and paranoid
Like a man who had just committed murder
Fused and Destroyed
My mind does everything to preserve her

I feel soulless and guilty
Like the Grim Reaper who comes to take
Boneless and Filthy
I am broken in ways I did not know I could break

I feel stressed and disturbed
Like a student before the final exam
Oppressed and Perturbed
I think I have given you all that I am

*****

Could I ask?
Do you sometimes feel as if you’re going through the motions?
Drink from my flask
I beg to again be lost within your ocean
Could I touch?
Do you sometimes reach out for my face with your hand?
Your hearts clutch
Shackle me in, never again to disband
Could I kiss?
Do you sometimes still gaze into nothing, wishing it was me?
I guess I miss,
Whenever you were the only thing I would ever see

Amazing poetry my friend. You brought me in and held me to the last words.
"Could I touch?
Do you sometimes reach out for my face with your hand?
Your hearts clutch
Shackle me in, never again to disband
Could I kiss?"
The above lines are amazing. I could write a complete poem from these words and emotion. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Breathtaking, just breathtaking. All of your work is simply brilliant, but this has ought to be your best piece yet. I love how not only the words flow together so perfectly, but you can feel the pain in this. It is amazing, truly amazing.
My favorite part of this entire poem, though, has got to be
"I feel soulless and guilty
Like the Grim Reaper who comes to take
Boneless and Filthy
I am broken in ways I did not know I could break"
Astonishing work. :)

I like the line "My mind does everything to preserve her." It's really heartbreaking knowing that this woman clearly isn't in his life anymore, and he's desperately trying to hold on to all the memories. Very well written, it really makes the reader feel something

I have to give it to you, this is a great piece. "I am broken in ways I did not know I could break " almost broke my heart with that line. THIS is talent, very very well written, thought out, well rounded. Thank you for sharing this

You're very welcome! Really enjoyed reading this, not just saying that to say it.
He sounds very lonesome. Again...your choice of words really resonates, and created a "feeling" in me, the reader, of mostly emptiness. I could read on his anger and frustration. He hasn't quite entirely found himself in this world. He wants something, which I am guessing is a woman, yet he cannot have her for their feelings towards each other isn't mutual. As I have told you before you are somehow able to put in rhyming without it sounding forced upon. That along with the enjabments create a very good flow for the poem. Also from my point of view, he wants someone to understand his feelings, even though sometimes not understanding them himself.

You've written a (dare I say breakup poem?) that's a good ten thousand feet above the clichéd, boring, generic kind, and I applaud you for that. It takes a good writer to take something that has already been done before, and make it fresh again. Fantastic job! :)
