My Quill
A Poem by Colton Warr

Abrupt inspiration floods over me
As I sit at my desk
You are the only one in my company
I do not need the rest

A crack from the fireplace
My attention lead astray

As your eyes meet mine I am revived
My attention restored
There is none quite like mine
Forever my greatest reward

You switch the blood in my IV to ink
My heart comes alive, I cannot blink

You are all of my words, all of my lines
"You'll need this" you say as you set down a quill
But see, I have had it this whole time
You are forever it, and be it forever you always will

These words are for you as all of them are
They hold all of my love, let them lead you to my heart
