Restoration

Restoration

A Poem by JennyinCO

When the winter gets in
Down deep where it hurts
Just there at the dividing line
Between sinew and hope

Look out past the blowing aspens
Squint hard against the stinging blast
To see the faint amber glow
Of fire against glass

He waits for you there
And no one else has the address

He bids you come
To sit awhile and daydream
Be the little girl in Daddy's Lap

Hold tight to the rhythm of His chest
Rising and falling
Breath of Life flowing into you

This is restoration
Hold it tight.

you have a wonderful blend of nature and humanistic tendencies..

and almost like George Harrison's album "all things must pass"

there is always a sense of wonder reading you...is she speaking of human love or spiritual love...or is it a combination...????

regardless...

i really like "To sit awhile and daydream/ Be the little girl in Daddy's Lap"

very interesting line..

a close call like that will do it...

your work is inspired.
i really like your poem, especially the first verse, 'the dividing line between sinew and hope' is a great poetic image- it's hard to describe where that would be exactly and yet it makes sense! overall i get a sense of comfort and grace. lovely.
